The Biggest Wedding So Far
This wedding is probably my most proudest moment to date. This is the first wedding that I have been approached by a couple to do from seeing my advert. My other weddings have either been of family of through friends so I was really pleased that someone had seen my blog and come to me to shoot their day.
The couple were Gemma and Dan, and so happened to live in Surrey so I knew straight away that travel wouldn’t be a problem. I met the happy couple to be at the hotel that they were due to be married in, The Apollo in Basingstoke. As a venue this was amazing. The first big hotel wedding that I have shot so far. The whole ceremony was to be held at one location, which made things easier for me. The place was beautiful and full of light so I was happy that I could get some good shots.
I didn’t realise quite how big the wedding was going to be, there were seven bridesmaids all under the age of 13, and multiple family members and friends. It was over whelming at first and I wasn’t sure I could get everything done, but all in all I was really pleased with the outcome.
I focused mainly on taking reportage style images, but Gemma had also given me a list of the posed images that she wanted me to capture, which were a bit of a nightmare to shoot when it came to the large groups, but I think it went well. It was really nice to work with a couple that were so much fun and easy-going.
